SpywareProtect is unfortunately a pest to get rid of. The virus actually infects the registry, which gives it the ability to create those pop up ads and change your settings. For this reason it can be very difficult to start removing registry entries unless you REALLY know what you are doing. Remove the wrong registry file and you can corrupt your own system.

You can also use the add/remove option to remove the associated .exe file which will run the program. Sometimes this doesn’t show up there and you need the software to remove it for you.

This is why I recommend downloading a Spyware Protect removal tool. I have found one that can detect and remove the virus in minutes. The key is deep embedded registry scans of DLL and startup commands where the malware hangs out. With the programs real time protection it can also prevent future virus attacks. You can certainly try to get rid of the virus manually but for non computer experts, installing the right software makes it much easier.

I am trying to change my Personal Question on my Yahoo Mail account and the form it takes me to seems insecure. It’s basically asking for every possible piece of info that someone needs to hack ones email account and then it’s not even an automatic update, from there it gets sent off….where? From what I always understood from other sites that require secure log ins, the site managers will never ask for you password or personal information that could give up your password yet that is basically what this form if asking me for. It may not be asking for my password directly but it is asking me for as I stated before EVERY piece of information for someone needs to hack my account. And I still don’t know once I fill in that info and send it where it’s going to. It just seems a little odd to me. Am I the only one?
