Understanding Spyware - 4 Informative Facts About Spyware
Oct 20th, 2009 by admin
Collin S Quarry asked:

Spyware Fact 1 - Spyware is malicious software placed on your computer without your knowledge!

Spyware can infect your PC when you visit online web sites offering free downloads of music, movies or games. Spyware can even infect your system when you install seemingly legitimate software on your computer. Spyware infects millions of PCs worldwide and even experienced internet and computer users are often infected because of the stealthy and malicious nature of spyware.

Spyware Fact 2 - Spyware can track everything you do online!

The main purpose of spyware is to track a the habits and gather information about a user. The reason for this is that the information regarding visiting trends and habits is worth millions of dollars to companies, and many people will use this unethical tactic to gather such information. Depending on the level of infection, spyware can harvest relatively harmless information such as how long a user stays on a website, to extremely sensitive information such as credit card information and personal details.

Spyware Fact 3 - I’m infected! How do I get rid of Spyware?

Spyware can be removed from you computer system by installing and researching about anti-spyware software available online. It is recommended that you run these programs weekly or even daily. After you have scanned your computer, it is recommended that you reset you computer as some of these malicious programs “cloak” themselves from removal unless the anti-spyware software is started before your operating system has initiated. In some cases, the damage that spyware causes to the system is beyond repair and requires a complete reformat of the system. To avoid such a scenario from happening, it is imperative to always be up to date in terms of internet security and to create multiple backups of important files and documents periodically.

Spyware Fact 4 - How do I determine which sites and files are safe for me to access?

One of the most effective ways of avoiding contact with spyware is by avoiding downloading “warez” or pirated software online from untrusted sources. Downloading “free” pirated software will sometimes come with the price of having malicious programs hidden within the software which will infect your system when the program is started. Do not open untrusted and unsolicited emails, if you use a free web mail service such as Gmail or Hotmail, the spam folder may contain emails which are placed there for a reason, do not open them and make sure to clean our your mailbox as often as possible.

David Urmann asked:

The computer is a comprehensive operating machine that performs unparalleled tasks. It is expediting results. Computers are helpful in many ways to various daily works. They are valuable inventions to the modern world.

Sadly, some detractors like to be troublesome and create programs that harm a computer system. Spyware is one of them. It is installed without the knowledge and permission of the user of a personal computer. The program interferes with the interaction of a user when it is accidentally opened.

Spyware removers are developed to counter these harmful effects. One of the popular spyware removers is the Spyware Terminator software. Spyware Terminator encompasses actual time protection, home identity protocol system, and antivirus. Most of these Spyware Terminators are free and readily downloadable from the internet.

The function of the Spyware Terminator is to extricate spyware, adware, trojans, keyloggers, home page hijackers, and malware from the computer system. It can also shield the computer from illegitimate programs like Look2Me, BetterInternet, VX2, and CWS. It is easy to use. It works on minimal personal computer resources. It scans a computer quickly and gives ample protection to the operating system.

The Spyware Terminator 1.0 is the oldest version, introduced on December 2, 2005. It is a multi-award winning anti-spyware program. There are now at least twenty editions of the Spyware Terminator, latest of which is the Spyware Terminator 2.3.0.487. This is the most powerful software for actual time protection and quick scanning.

Spyware Terminator is always continually updating to later versions because there are always new versions of spyware being produced. Computer detractors are not stopping from developing harmful programs. It keeps a database of potential harmful software. The list includes all categories of potential threats to personal and commercial computer users.

The items stored in the Spyware Terminator database are approximately 420,090 possible spyware threats in 75,603 categories. The data are continually analyzed and updated. Users worldwide can depend on this Spyware Terminator database for the latest in anti-spyware developments.

Spyware Terminator has enhanced its Security Check. The number of worldwide users of the internet is continually growing. There is a need to upgrade the identification of security lapses and computer weaknesses. Users are notified of risky spywares as soon as possible.

Research groups still continue to develop computer software to increase the capabilities of internet users to surf the worldwide web, and make online surfing safe and protected.

Free Spyware Removal Tools - Eliminate Spyware

Markus Sampson asked:

When it comes to removing spyware you will find that most of the time you will only be successful if you use a free spyware removal program. The reason why is because these types of infections are designed to infect various different system files on your computer which cannot be located and deleted manually. Spyware removal tools are designed to scan, quarantine and remove infected files with the help of signatures which detect different types of infections within program files. Lets briefly talk a bit more about what spyware actually is and how it can infect your pc.

It is basically defined as any software which installs itself on your operating system without your direct knowledge with the primary objective of monitoring user activity and stealing information. This information includes system settings, websites surfed, bank details, usernames and passwords and email addresses which are then relayed to foreign users who use it for advertising purposes. It is also dangerous in that it can hack and lower your security settings in internet explorer which will make your pc more prone to malicious installations while you surf. Spyware infections commonly come from bundled freeware applications and email messages.

Freeware programs are notorious for containing infections which will cause damage once they are installed onto your operating system. Spyware infections also commonly come from emails which have infectious attachments so be careful and delete suspicious emails if you do not recognise them. Common symptoms of these infections include speed degradation, changing of default browser homepage, unknown toolbars, missing application files and poor system functionality.

Xoftspyse is the top rated free spyware removal program which has continued to gain huge popularity because of its powerful scanning and repairing abilities. If you would like to download the latest free version and scan your pc now please visit the website below.

Why Do I Need Spyware Protection?
Oct 15th, 2009 by admin
Samantha Rindfuss asked:

FACT: Chances are your machine is hosting spyware. There are currently over 78,000 Spyware and Adware programs on the Internet that can infect your PC.
Here are 9 warning signs you should be aware of, if any of them pertain to you then your PC is most likely infected:

When you start your browser, the home page has mysteriously changed. You change it back manually, but before long you find that it has changed back again.

You get pop-up advertisements when your browser is not running or when your system is not even connected to the Internet, or you get pop-up ads that address you by name.

Your phone bill includes expensive calls to 900 numbers that you never made-probably at an outrageous per-minute rate.

You enter a search term in Internet Explorer’s address bar and press Enter to start the search. Instead of your usual search site, an unfamiliar site handles the search.

A new item appears in your Favorites list without your putting it there. No matter how many times you delete it, the item always reappears later.

Your system runs noticeably slower than it did before. If you’re a Windows 2000/XP user, launching the Task Manager and clicking the Processes tab reveals that an unfamiliar process is using nearly 100 percent of available CPU cycles.

At a time when you’re not doing anything online, the send or receive lights on your dial-up or broadband modem blink just as wildly as when you’re downloading a file or surfing the Web. Or the network/modem icon in your system tray flashes rapidly even when you’re not using the connection.

A search toolbar or other browser toolbar appears even though you didn’t request or install it. Your attempts to remove it fail, or it comes back after removal.

And the final sign is: Everything appears to be normal. The most devious spyware doesn’t leave traces you’d notice, so scan your system anyway.

Online Spyware Remover - Safety For Your Computer
Oct 11th, 2009 by admin
Dan Morton asked:

With today’s internet risky and potentially dangerous worms, trojans and dialers, an online spyware remover is a must-have. What exactly is spyware, and why do you need protection from it?

Think of the internet as one, huge department store, filled with billions of products. As you walk through this store, which is equivalent to browsing websites, the managers of each department you visit take notice of each item you look at, each question you ask, and everything you buy. They then write it all down on a piece of paper which identifies you, and carries your information.

They then stick this paper to your body, in a place where only the managers can see it.

Each piece of paper comes with its own little “robot” which is invisible to you and continues to record everything else you do in the store as you stroll (surf the the internet). Then, after gathering all of this secret and private information from you - without you even knowing it - the “robot” then tries to persuade you to buy things - sometimes it shouts suggestions in your ears, other times it makes advertisements to guide you back to its department. The most dangerous robots grab your feet and violently drag you back to their department, in the hopes you’ll buy something. If you try to fight it, the robot pushes back even harder, and move slowly, or even stop moving!

You are now in serious trouble - much like your computer would be with spyware.

An online spyware remover is like a security guard wrestling that robot off your back and onto the ground! When these robots get into your computer, they use software to gather information, and can make your computer run slowly and corrupt files. That’s why you really need to have an online spyware remover and scanner at all times.

Even better, you should prevent adware and spyware from infecting your computer - kind of like having a big friend to follow you around in the store, fighting off the robots. This prevention software, which is usually part of a firewall of similar can save you a lot of headaches.

But, if you think your computer may be infected with spyware or adware - then shop around for the very best online spyware remover you can find. Sure, there are free removers available, and they can do a good job. But, they’re limited in what they can do, and none will prevent an attack.

Will an Anti Spyware Remover Protect Me From Identity Theft?
Oct 10th, 2009 by admin
Peter T. Harkin asked:

I have a buddy who is completely obsessed with identity theft. He thinks that even showing his driver’s license to someone will open the doors to his entire financial world to an outside party. But, he doesn’t think twice about clicking on an ad online, or downloading freeware or shareware. He downloads movies from pirate sites and doesn’t worry about opening an .exe file. What he doesn’t realize is that he is putting is identity at considerably more risk by his online activities than by what he does in the “real world”. Without some kind of anti spyware remover, all of his data is at risk every time he does one of these high-risk activities online.

We all know that we shouldn’t give out our Social Security number, and we should keep as much personal data as possible secure, but almost all of what we do online is open for everyone to see with the use of spyware. Without an anti spyware remover, with just the click of a button, someone could have access to your user names, passwords, bank accounts, social media pages, and more - and your identity could be immediately stolen, not to mention that they could change your passwords, denying you access to your own information.

Most people think that spyware attacks only come from “dangerous sites”, such as adult sites or pirate sites, but that isn’t necessarily true. If you download torrents or use P2P programs such as Limewire, your computer is open to the public, 24 hours a day. Anyone can download spyware to you or attach it to a file that you are downloading. Without some type of anti spyware remover, you will never know that the attack is under way and by the time you realize that it is running in your system tray, it will be too late to do anything about it.

Is Cheap Spyware Better Than Free Spyware?
Oct 9th, 2009 by admin
Tony Newton asked:

Even if you don’t think you have spyware, you should always scan your machine anyway because you can never be too sure. Spyware is different to viruses, as they won’t spread wildly around your PC and affect other programs and files that you have on there. But they could be tracking everything you are currently doing on your machine. Yes, the websites you are visiting, the details you are entering into your online banking account. Everything! So is using cheap spyware the answer? Or should you download free spyware instead?

Before we look into that, lets look at just how spyware installs itself on your machine first, as often if you can prevent it from occurring, you won’t have to look at ways of removing it. The majority of spyware will auto install itself via the Internet Explorer browser or programs that work with Active X.

You won’t know they have installed themselves and will just sit quietly in the background, keeping track of everything you are doing. If your machine slows down a great deal and popup boxes start appearing, then this is almost certainly a symptom of spyware.

So always be careful of which websites you visit and never install anything if you are asked to. Also, don’t click on popup boxes because they are the most common way to install spyware on your PC. Using free spyware software can remove various forms of spyware but you must be very careful to download only trusted programs. Cheap spyware programs on the other will most often be supported and regularly updated to help you protect yourself against new forms of spyware that enter the market.

So cheap spyware will almost certainly be better than free spyware but if you want to try the free spyware first, then make sure you review the software and company as best you can before you install anything on your machine.
